REQUIREMENTS FOR ONTARIO STOCKYARDS INC.       VACCINATED SALES

Must be vaccinated with respiratory vaccines for the prevention of IBR, P13, BVD & BRSV.

The minimum requirement is a 4 or 5-way killed vaccine. A product containing Hemophilus Somnus (HS) is recommended. Initial vaccination must be followed with a booster 2-4 weeks later.

Modified Live Vaccines                                                                                                       Some 4 or 5-way modified live vaccines do not need to be boostered. Please verify with your veterinarian.

For both killed and modified live vaccines, final booster should be given at least 2 weeks prior to marketing.

For Optimal Protection                                                                                                      The cow herd should be vaccinated annually (prior to breeding) with a modified live 5 or 10-way vaccine containing BVD.  It is recommended that all injections be given in the neck.

Always consult your veterinarian for his/her recommended vaccination program and product.

All animals must have a CCIA approved RFID tag.
